Space Monkey Media is looking for an experienced, passionate and creative Social Media Manager to join our team!  Responsible for planning, implementing, managing and monitoring the Social Media strategy, you will set out to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and grow the community for our portfolio of podcasts. You will report directly to the Marketing Specialist and work closely with members of the production team.


This is a part-time, ongoing position working at our Toronto studio (or remotely), with room to grow. We currently have a portfolio of eight podcasts with more in development.  If you are passionate about social media, sports, lifestyle and the podcasting space, we want to hear from you! 




Founded in 2016, Space Monkey has produced more than 100 documentaries, episodes, digital shorts and brand spots for both traditional and digital platforms for a variety of clients including TSN, FOX Sports, NBA, NHL, MLS, Canadian Olympic Committee, Canada Soccer, MLSE and Concacaf.


In 2017 Space Monkey began development and production of a stable of original podcasts partnering with Toronto’s top talent and creatives and have since been named and nominated among the country’s best. 




  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy

  • Define, monitor and report the most important social media KPIs

  • Manage and oversee social media content

  • Measure the success of every social media campaign

  • Practice daily engagement across all platforms for our portfolio of podcasts 

  • Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies

  • Use social media marketing tools such as Hootsuite, Later, Tweetdeck

  • Develop all posts copy and design to ensure content is informative and appealing. This includes sourcing images or working with Canva (or your preferred tool) for design work 

  • Writing and publishing of short  blogs

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Production teams to ensure social media engagement is aligned to show schedules and topics 

  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network

  • Provide constructive feedback and actionable plans 

  • Adhere to each show’s brand voice


  • 1 - 2 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role

  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media best practices

  • Strong storytelling and copywriting ability 

  • Comfortable working with design platforms such as Canva

  • Good understanding of social media KPIs

  • Excellent multitasking skills

  • Great leadership skills

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Team player

  • Good time-management skills

  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
